Aero Playground Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 11, 2026
Publisher ("we", "us"): Glass Overlay LLC, 522 W Riverside Ave, Ste N, Spokane, WA 99201

The short version. Aero Playground has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. Your flights, settings and clips stay on your device. When you fly online with other people, your pilot name, aircraft and position are passed along live to the other pilots in your room, and your voice is passed along only while you hold the radio's TALK button. None of it is stored or logged by the game's server.

1. What this covers

This policy covers Aero Playground, the flight game for iPhone and iPad, and the Aero Widget, its companion app for Mac that shows the simulation in Glass Overlay. Both are published by Glass Overlay LLC. Aero Playground is distributed through Apple's App Store and TestFlight; the Aero Widget and any Mac version of the game are distributed directly, outside the App Store. The websites aeroplayground.app and glassoverlay.com are covered by the Glass Overlay Privacy Policy.

2. What we don't collect

We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't collect your name, email address, contacts, location or advertising identifier. The game contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking software. We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

3. What stays on your device

These are stored only on your device and are never sent to us:

  • Your settings: aircraft, controls, views, calibration, and joystick and button assignments.
  • Flight replays and the review history used to rewind and play back a flight.
  • Clips and pictures you record. They stay on your device unless you save them to Photos or share them.

Deleting the app deletes them, except clips you've saved to your photo library.

4. Flying online with other pilots

Online play is optional. If you join the open room or a private room, the game connects to our relay server, which passes information between the pilots in the same room:

What is sentWho receives itKept?
The pilot name you type in (it doesn't need to be your real name) and the aircraft you flyThe other pilots in your roomNo. It's gone when you leave the room.
Your aircraft's position, speed, attitude and control positions, about 10 times a secondThe other pilots in your roomNo. It's passed along live and not stored.
Your voice, only while you hold TALK on the radioPilots in your room tuned to the same frequencyNo. It's passed along live and never recorded by us.

The relay has no accounts and no database. Private rooms are joined with a 6-character code; anyone with the code can join. Please don't use your real name or personal details as your pilot name, and remember that other players can hear what you say on the radio.

The relay runs on Cloudflare, which acts as our service provider. We have turned off request logging for the relay, so it keeps no record of who connected, from where, or under what pilot name. Like any internet service, Cloudflare processes your device's IP address in order to deliver the connection and protect against attacks, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

5. Permissions the game asks for

  • Microphone: used only for the intercom and the radio. The intercom plays your voice back in your own headphones, as in a real cockpit, and is recorded into clips you make on your device (they stay there unless you save or share them). It is never sent to other players or to us. The radio sends your voice only while you hold TALK (see section 4). You can say no; everything else still works.
  • Add to Photos: used only to save clips and pictures you choose to save. The game can't read your photo library.
  • Game controllers and joysticks: read on your device to fly the airplane. Calibration and button assignments stay on your device.

6. The Aero Widget and Glass Overlay

The Aero Widget runs on your Mac and sends nothing to us. It works only on your own computer and local network:

  • It shares its picture with Glass Overlay on the same Mac, and with NDI video apps on your network.
  • It accepts controls from Glass Overlay and from its web remote, which you open in a browser on your network.
  • It announces itself on your network so those apps can find it.

The widget's control and web-remote connections have no password, so anyone on the same network can see and control the widget. Use it on a network you trust, such as your home or studio network, not public Wi-Fi. If you use the widget in a Glass Overlay session or call, the Glass Overlay Privacy Policy covers that session.

7. Purchases and crash reports

If the game is sold or offers purchases through the App Store, Apple handles the payment and we never see your payment details. If you choose to share crash reports or diagnostics with app developers in your Apple device settings, Apple may pass anonymized crash data to us. We use it only to fix bugs.

8. Children

Aero Playground is a general-audience game. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and the game has no accounts or profiles. Parents should know that online rooms are open to other players and the radio carries live voice. Online play and the microphone can be left off.

9. Your choices and rights

You can play entirely offline, keep the microphone off, or delete the app at any time. Because we don't keep personal information about you, there is normally nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you have a question or request, including under the privacy laws of your state or country, email privacy@glassoverlay.com.

10. Changes

If we change how the game handles information, we'll update this page and its effective date. If a change is significant, we'll also note it in the app's release notes.
